Contemporary Jewish Museum

Located in downtown San Francisco the Contemporary Jewish Museum is the design of internationally-acclaimed architect, Daniel Libeskind. The intricate design of this building was modeled in 3-D by our in-house detailing department using Tekla Structures. With this model Olson Steel was able to identify clash problems before the steel was onsite. The new building is an adaptive reuse of the historic Jessie Street Power Substation, which helped restore energy to San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake. The new 63,000-square-foot facility will enable the Contemporary Jewish Museum to expand its mission of engaging audiences and artists in exploring contemporary perspectives on Jewish culture, history, art, and ideas through innovative exhibitions and educational programs.
