San Jose Southside Police Station
This is the first major police substation built in the city of San Jose in over 50 years. The facility is a three story, 107,000 square foot building on a 10.5 acre site that includes a 5,000 square foot vehicle maintenance building, a vehicle fueling station and a car wash. Olson Steel was contracted to do the structural steel and miscellaneous metals on this project. The biggest challenge on this project was the tight construction schedule. Olson was able to detail the project, procure material and fabricate the structure within six months so as to not delay the construction schedule. Through extensive coordination and cooperation from the entire Olson staff, the design team, and SJ Amoroso Construction, we moved efficiently through a tight schedule.
