Oakland Airport BART Connector
The Oakland Airport Connector project is a 3.2-mile automated people mover rail system that connects the Coliseum Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Station and the Oakland Airport. It is estimated to serve eight million passengers annually. Turner is building the three vertical elements/stations of the project. Olson Steel handled all steel related construction associated with the stations, canopies, cantilevered walkways, stairs, perforated metal panels, decorative grating, windscreen system and stainless steel wall rail. Olson also handled the complex nighttime installation of the Pedestrian bridge connecting to the Coliseum BART station.
