222 Second Street
The recent Tishman Speyer development project at the corner of 2nd and Howard Streets consists of a 26-story, 350-foot office tower with restaurant/retail on the ground floor. The original was designed for 222 2nd Street by New York-based Thomas Phifer and Partners with local firm Heller Manus but has since been tweaked by Gensler. The Class A office building consists of a steel structure and is wrapped in overlapping, full-floor glass panels. There are 8,600 square feet of publicly-accessible open space. Turner Construction is the General Contractor and Olson Steel was engaged to design, fabricate and erect four primary stairwells 26 stories high.
